MSO4034B FW v1.38 : eScope FAIL

Postby jimsp on Thu Jan 19, 2012 3:13 pm

Hi Guys,

S/N C010384

With FW v1.32 , eScope works as advertised. I just access the 'scope at its current IP, click through to the "CONTROL" tab, and all the buttons (i.e. the soft-buttons and the off-image menu) do what's expected of them.

After upgrading to v1.38 however, the screen image is displayed (and refreshes) on the "CONTROL" tab, but _none_ of the buttons have any effect on the 'scope.
Wireshark shows that "?command:" strings are being sent by the browser, but the 'scope appears to be ignoring them.

I have tried downloading v1.32 and v1.38 from the support pages again today, and have repeated the entire downgrade/upgrade procedure twice already (yes, I did remember to add forceinstall.txt to the USB Stick ;-).

Anyone else noticed this, or even know why it's happening?

Thanks for any clues!

That is what we call a firmware bug. It looks like the command is correctly being populated in the Data tab in the Command field, but is not being correctly executed by the scope. If you hit the send command, it does execute however. I will report it. Thank you for your observation.

You're welcome!
I guess this really is a case of never touching a running system: I rely on the remote control features quite heavily.
