I just upgraded the CPU to P3 1GHz. It works on the TLA721.

perfectpitcher22, the registry cleaner won't help, the TLA721 is just old and slow PC. It's running Windows with just one application, the registry is fine.

BTW, is there a way of stopping TLA Application from re-reading the module's memory every time you zoom in/out or move cursors? That makes it really slow.

This slowness is in two parts. As the acquisition modules evolved hardware was added to significantly speed up data transfer times. In the oldest modules (TLA7Lx & TLA7Mx) every bit value of the acquisition data was transferred from hardware to the application software. With newer modules (TLA7N/P/Qx, TLA7Axx, TLA7NAx, TLA7Bxx, TLA5000/B, and TLA620x) a hardware search engine sends only the data changes - much faster.

The other aspect is the application software. As the version numbers increase the time to render a display drops significantly. There has been a lot of effort placed in this area. For example, in v5.8.099 the application software will actually start fetching the data in the background as soon as you have completed a new acquisition.

Always run the newest TLA application version that your controller, or external PC, can support.
