Tektronix DPO3014 portable external Hard Drive

Postby skingmonroe on Fri Jun 22, 2012 11:51 pm

I am trying to connect an external hard drive to a DPO3014 and DPO3054 scope. I have tried connecting a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex portable external hard drive with no success. The scope will not recognize the media.

I have only been able to extract data/files using flash drives. But my current configuration does not allow the use of such memory drives.

Does anyone have any experience with connecting an external hard drive to a DPO3000 series scope? Any particular NON-FLASH drive work for you?

Thanks

I have heard reports that external hard drives formatted as FAT32 may work, but have not verified this myself.

my 300 GB self-powered external is formatted FAT32 and works. the disk format utility in Windows operating systems will default to NTFS for drives of significant size. Furthermore, this utility hasn't been updated to support the current maximum partition size of FAT32. you'll likely want to use a third-party disk formatting utility. there are many free and open-source ones online.
