Topic 1 - Trends in High Performance Computing
As consumers demand more data in their lives, computing technologies are keeping pace to ensure that consumers have instantaneous access to information. This requires the evolution of key technologies and has resulted in the need to develop new test methodologies to ensure that solutions are compliant with the test specifications. On the forefront of this change is the Enterprise High Performance Computing Market, with technologies ranging from Thunderbolt, SATA Express, PCI Express 3.0, SAS 12G, and 10G KR driving the future. In the past it was sufficient to validate high speed serial links by directly acquiring the signal, looking at the eye diagram and validating jitter and eye height. Preparing for the future of High Performance Computing standards, requires validation of both the transmitter and receiver while taking into consideration probing needs, de-embedding, transmitter and receiver equalization, and new jitter separation techniques. An overview of the trends from an implementation and validation perspective will be reviewed along with Tektronix’ solutions to simplify your transition to these technologies.

Topic 2 — High performance storage systems technology update and introduction to 12G physical layer validation
SATA continues to grow into a broader set of consumer level storage solutions.  Advances in SATA-Express,  and micro SSD (BGA Chip level)  storage are the latest developments in the domain of SATA storage and this session will review the unique testing challenges presented by these new additions.  Release 3.1 of the SATA specification also entails changes to the electrical specification in areas related to Transmitter and Receiver amplitude measurements which will have a direct and immediate impact on how products are tested.    We will cover these topics in detail and provide an updated roadmap of the future of SATA and its testing programs.SAS-3 will deploy 12G into the enterprise market in 2012, and while the specification is still fluid, general trends on test methods and techniques are emerging which we will discuss.   Tektronix has been an integral participant in the SAS-3 specification development process,  and this session will cover  the unique instrumentation needs established by silicon designers working in physical layer validation and characterization space today.

Topic 4 — Simplifying Validation and Debug of USB3.0 Designs
SuperSpeed USB is well on its way to becoming a pervasive standard in the computing and consumer markets. Moving from USB 2.0 to SuperSpeed USB has required a shift in the test methodologies. A closed eye specification, SuperSpeed USB, requires the embedding of a compliance channel and the application of a reference equalizer to perform compliance testing. Moving away from compliance testing the same solutions that are available for compliance testing are easily extensible to enable through characterization and debug of SuperSpeed USB. A look into key challenges that have faced implementers of SuperSpeed USB and the physical and logic layer solutions to overcome these challenges will be presented.

Topic 2 — Accelerating your Embedded RF designs with new RSA5000 Signal Analyzers
