Tektronix Expands High-Performance Microprocessor, AGP4X and Industry-Standard Bus Support

-TLA Family of Logic Analyzers Enable Semiconductor Advancements-

Tektronix recently announced a new business strategy that targets key markets in the global communications and Internet industries. Semiconductors serve as the building blocks for these industries. Accordingly, Tektronix is providing customer-focused solutions through internal product development, joint development with industry-leading customers, alliances and tools partnerships. Industry-leading microprocessor and bus support is integral to the success of this strategy.

Company Strategy Supports Intel's Internet-Related Processors

Intel's Embedded Pentium III is ideally suited for high-end embedded designs where Microsoft Windowsâ compatibility is a factor, including high-performance Internet appliances or any type of controller operation where a familiar user interface is important. The IXP1200 network processor, also known as StrongARM (SA1200) from Intel's Level One, is used in high-performance Internet networking applications such as remote access concentrators, ISP/WAN switches, routers, storage area networks, LAN switches, and is used to optimize packet flow to provide increased Quality of Service (QoS) levels.

New Wave, one of Tektronix' third-party developers, provides support for both IXP1200 and PCI-X.

"The continuously expanding, broad support for new microprocessors and buses emphasizes Tektronix' commitment to its TLA family of logic analyzers for important emerging technologies," said Paul Andersen, product marketing manager for Digital Systems Business Unit, Tektronix, Inc. "The additions to the TLA 600 and TLA 700 Series provide designers with a broad range of solutions for high-performance microprocessor and embedded-system design applications."

TLA 700 Supports AGP4X State and Timing

Support for the next-generation graphics port offers both a state and timing solution for protocol. The TMS 807 module supports AGP4X timing, and the TMS 808 module addresses state support. These allow the designer to analyze the event occurring within the bus.

Additional Bus Support Now Available

Tektronix also announced the expansion of its support to encompass important new bus technologies. These include industry-standard buses PMC64, a high-density version of a PC-card bus, and the popular PC104, widely used in industrial control and low-cost embedded systems. Tektronix supports both buses in conjunction with New Wave.

About New Wave
